Abstract

      The aims of this study were to determine formulas of coating solution and comparative of structural, barrier resistance properties of carton paper before and after examination. The test formulas conditions of coating solution between gelatin concentrations 10%, 20% and 0.5 and 1.0 of glucomannan powder concentrations dissolved in 500 ml. distilled water. The solutions were added by

glycerol 5%, 10% and 15% respectively. The solutions were, then, continuously stirred with a fixed temperature of 50°C for 1 hour. Afterward, they were coated onto the back sides of carton paper by wire bar coating method. The results of experimental showed that the appropriated solution is gelatin concentrations 10% and glycerol 10% for good resistance of humidity. Moreover, the basic weight and thickness of carton paper have increased slightly with a good abrasion-resistance property.
